Light Conquers Darkness. The Uffizi in Casal di Principe
The exhibition “Light Conquers Darkness. The Uffizi in Casal di Principe” was held from June 21 to October 21, 2015, at Casa Don Diana in Casal di Principe, in the province of Caserta. The exhibition was curated by Antonio Natali, director of the Uffizi Gallery, and Fabrizio Vona, director of the Regional Museum Pole of Puglia.
The event represented a strong symbol of cultural rebirth in a region marked by the presence of organized crime. The decision to hold the exhibition in an asset confiscated from the Camorra, dedicated to Don Peppe Diana, a priest murdered in 1994 for his efforts against organized crime, emphasized the power of art in promoting legality and hope.
The Association participated as a sponsor, supporting the costs for the lighting of the exhibition hall and the catalog for the exhibition. Thanks to the success and public interest, the exhibition was extended until December 13, 2015, giving an even larger number of visitors the opportunity to appreciate art as a tool for social redemption.
